The moment I met you (Chapter 190)

  By Nightengale Ben-Onyeukwu

Stanley shrugged. ‘You might need a police officer.’ He handed Chioma his mobile phone. ‘Give me your phone number…Perhaps; it will serve as a call for help. You can also give me your Whatsapp contact. ’

They both exchanged phone numbers, and then Chioma headed for the counter. She looked confused at this moment. What would she need a police officer for? Anyway, Stanley was now her good friend. It wasn’t wrong for him to have her phone number and Whatsapp contact.

Chioma was about to go home for the day, but as she was about pushing the door open, she received a call from Audrey.

‘Chioma?’

‘Yup.’

‘Going to the theatre to see a movie with my sister Celine tonight, do you mind coming as well? I’ve got tickets for you and Chisom.’Audrey was excited.

Chioma was completely confused. Audrey had asked her if she would be going to the movie theatre but has already gotten tickets for her.

‘Not today. Maybe next time.’

‘Why? You need to relax after having such a tough day with customers. I can just pick you up from your workplace, and then we can go together from my house. I’m going home to change…’Audrey wore her earphones as she drove her Porsche.  Her bag was on the passenger seat. She was returning from school, dressed in a matching pink knit top and coat with pointed-toe block heels. She was elegant and graceful, as always.

‘Madam Audrey, I promise to go with you next time.’Chioma refused Audrey at once. She didn’t want to face Felix because she might bump into him. She wasn’t yet ready to face him.

‘Okay, next time. Talk to you later, then she hung up.
