‘Is the director here already?’Michael asked as Robert knotted the tie skillfully.
‘He’s on his way.’
‘If he doesn’t arrive here in the next two minutes I will fire him,’Michael said in an emotionless tone.
‘Sir, he is stuck in traffic…’
‘I hate lateness. If he does love his job, then he should do everything like he would when heading to a hospital to deliver liver or heart to a patient who needed an urgent transplant.’ Michael turned to look himself in the mirror.
Robert didn’t know what to say at this moment. He wished the director would arrive soon to avoid being fired. As if on cue, the director arrived, holding a few documents. Michael walked into the study room and sat down on the couch. Crossing his long graceful legs, he reached for a fountain pen before taking the documents from the director who was donned in a blazer and button-up with unbuttoned collar, showing that it was possible to look casual and put together at the same time. Michael went through the documents. But before signing them, he pulled off the progress report, handing it to Robert. Then, signed the other documents stylishly.
‘What were you doing at home that made you dress casually as though you’re bringing over a cosmetic endorsement contract?’ Michael asked the director when he fnished signing the document.
Hearing these words the director froze for a second, not able to process what Michael meant.
Robert was stunned, wondering if Michael was going to fire Christopher Mba for his dressing.
‘Sir, isn’t the director handsome? He would do well to endorse in our cosmetic brand, right Christopher?’Robert laughed after a moment, trying not to anger Michael.
‘I’m not qualified to get an
endorsement deal with Moon Corporation,’ Christopher said, lowering his head so
as not to meet the gaze of Michael. ‘Madam Jessica is beautiful and the right
person for any endorsement.’
