Michael had been extremely busy searching for Chioma for four full days before finding out which part of Lagos she was residing now. He had been extremely anxious and stressed looking for her and had even forgotten about the surveillance cameras from his moment of panic. But when he thought of the CCTVs going to be of help to his search for her, Michael quickly had to check the CCTV feed of Lagos state traffic cameras. It would not be hard if he asked the Nigeria Police Force to check her whereabouts in Lagos State. However, since only he and a few others knew that she had gone to Lagos State, Michael decided not to let anyone know about it.
With the computer in his study, he had typed furiously with his graceful fingers. Within a few minutes, all the videos of the buses that left for Lagos state by 6 o’clock were shown on the screen. His dark and sharp eyes did not blink as he watched the surveillance feeds, eagerly searching for that familiar figure. Finally, after about ten minutes of searching, he looked stern as he paused one of the videos. When he maximised the window to the video, Chioma appeared clearly on the screen walking on the street which was supposedly one of the poorest ghettos in Lagos. He frowned at the fact that she was heading towards that side, but relax when he saw that she was safe.
Now upon arriving at Moon Corporation, he went straight to his office to sign some urgent documents. When he was done signing them, he handed the documents to Robert.
Robert took two of the documents to Peter, pointed out a problem with one, and tasked him with some additional work items before heading back to Michael’s office.
Opening the door, Robert saw Michael sitting on the sofa with his eyes closed, listening to the follow-up news from Chioma cancelling their engagement.
‘According to the information that have been revealed, neighbours of Chioma have said that before Chioma left a demolition threat had been given to them. From this, we can see, in regard to Chioma leaving Abuja, she might have been forced to leave the city...’
‘As for Chioma herself, we have contacted her best friend and her best friend has expressed that she believes the truth can never be hidden forever. Chisom has also asked us to tell those that have been worried about Chioma, that she has been okay and there is no need to worry about her as she has found happiness in this new place she is residing with her family…’
After hearing the segment of news, Michael turned off the TV and turned his attention to Robert, ‘Inform every department head that tomorrow will be our board meeting.’ After saying this, Michael left the office.
Robert remained in the office and organised the documents on Michael’s desk before calling the company secretary to inform her to make arrangements for the meeting tomorrow.
