The moment I met you (Chapter 155)

  By Nightengale Ben-Onyeukwu

Just as Michael walked downstairs with the document he had taken from his study room he saw Felix making his way upstairs. Felix paused in his steps when he saw Michael.

‘Michael, you’re leaving?’

Michael nodded, expressionless and walked towards the coffee table at the living room for his keys, then he turned to look at Felix, whose mobile phone was ringing. He paused for a few seconds after Felix rejected the call, and asked, ‘Do you mind coming to the office with me?’

‘We should go. Maybe that will help us let out the steam,’Felix sighed. ‘You go ahead first… I have something to do before going to the office.’ It seemed he suddenly remembered that he was going to a florist shop to buy a huge bouquet of flowers for Chioma. He wanted to gift her something for the weekend.

Michael didn’t say a word. He turned around and left with the car keys. Reaching for his gold lamborghini, he opened the door and sat inside. Holding onto the steering wheel, he drove away in the dazzling sunlight.

Chioma and her group made their way through the Saturday morning crowds in the market. Daniel had wanted them to go to the mall first, but Chioma and Chisom said they wanted to have a good stroll at Wuse Market which was located at Wuse District in the northwestern part of Abuja metropolis. The market happens to be the city’s principal market and was often graced by many shoppers. After browsing through the market, they went over to, a luxurious shopping mall in the city. Today was Saturday, a perfect day for shopping and relaxing. It seemed that the group got all the luxury of time to shop and dine. They were looking happy as they went up the shallow steps into the mall.
