The moment I met you (Chapter 175)

 By Nightengale Ben-Onyeukwu

Just then, Chioma received a Whatsapp message. She opened it and saw that it was from Audrey, who sent her a picture of a bouquet of flowers. It was the same flowers she had rejected today from Peter. She wondered why Audrey took a picture of those flowers.

‘Isn’t the bouquet of flowers beautiful?’ Audrey messaged her.

‘I love it…’

‘If you love it, why did you reject it?’

At this moment Chioma knew that the flowers had come from Felix. ‘I didn’t know they had come from you.’Chioma carefully ignored the name of Felix. ‘I’m sorry.’

‘It’s yours. You can have it anytime.’

After they finished chatting, Audrey took a beautiful picture with the flowers and posted it on her Whatsapp status, under which she wrote; for my brother’s girlfriend.

Chioma saw the status and didn’t know what to say. She wanted to tell Audrey about Michael but didn’t have the courage to do so. Instead she wrote, ‘Audrey, you look beautiful in your jeans and round-collared light pink sweater.’

‘You’re good with words.’Audrey attached the message with a laughing emoji.

Chioma smiled but didn’t reply. As she looked at her Whatsapp messages, she seemed to be thinking of something. Perhaps, she was thinking of a better way to explain her relationship with Michael to Audrey.
Someone had spilled juice on the floor as he was about lifting the glass to his lips, Chioma who had placed a bowl of noodles before a customer quickly reached for the mop, and began mopping the floor. Although no kid was in the restaurant, Chioma still felt that it was proper to mop the floor to avoid accident. Accident wasn’t above anyone.
