The moment I met you (Chapter 174)

 By Nightengale Ben-Onyeukwu

After Chioma spoke, she lightly kissed Louisa on her cheek. Maybe to make her not to get mad at what she said. Louisa looked at Chioma and smiled. She wasn’t angry, Chioma was surprised.

‘Is he planning to bring you to the church?’

Chioma blushed at her mother’s question.

‘If he’s the one you love, then I support you.’

‘You’re not mad?’Chioma raised an eyebrow.

‘No…’Louisa smiled, then after a moment, she said, ‘Hope you know that his family might reject you because of your low status?’She breathed.

Chioma sighed. ‘I know what I got myself into… I’m willing to stand by my decision and cherish this man for the rest of my life.’

‘Where did you learn that line? Seriously…kids of these days know how to spout nonsense,’Louisa joked and Chioma smiled sweetly.’How’s Daniel?’ Louisa asked suddenly.

Chioma paused, wondering if her mother was still in support of Daniel for her.

‘Don’t worry, I’m not asking you to be his girlfriend.’

Chioma let out a deep breath. ‘He’s fine… He recently broke up with his girlfriend.’

‘He will find someone else sooner or later.’Louisa gave a reassuring smile. She started towards the bed after changing into her night dress.

‘Mum, why didn’t you object my relationship with Michael?’ Chioma was still surprised her mother didn’t reprimand her.

Louisa smiled. ‘Because it’s stressful separating two people who are in love…I know I will never succeed, so, why should I fight a losing battle. The best way to save the stress is to approve the relationship…I might exhaust my energy if I do fight your relationship with him.’she shrugged, and Chioma broke into a sweet smile. ‘Just be careful and never let him take advantage of you…’she yawned, then crawled into bed. ‘Goodnight.’
