Daniel’s eyes gazed at her as she gracefully ate her suya. ‘You can call me Daniel.’
Audrey already knew his name but was still pleased Daniel reminded her. The way he sounded just now felt so intimate that Audrey couldn’t help but smile.
Pushing another plate of suya in front of her, he said, ‘I have already thought of you as my friend. Hope you don’t mind?’
Audrey was over the moon when she heard him say this. She looked up at Daniel in her charming smile. ‘I accept to be your friend.’
Daniel seemed glad with the answer. He knew that relationship was a gradual process. Some day, she would be his. Everything stems from somewhere, he thought. Perhaps, this was the beginning of it.
Audrey had a good time today, maybe because she spent the day with Daniel. After eating the suya, they both had gone to the mall together. She never mentioned her birthday to him. She was going to visit his home and hand him the birthday invite. She felt that it was another good opportunity to spend time with him. She was very happy that she wouldn’t stop thinking about Daniel.
Then, in her pink bathrobe, she walked to the window of her room with a strawberry lollipop in her mouth, enjoying the beautiful night sky.
On the other hand, after Chioma was done with dinner, she took a shower and then headed straight to the bedroom. She was exhausted and needed to sleep already. Louisa who was knitting a sweater immediately looked up. She frowned when she saw that Chioma’s hair wasn’t completely dried yet.
‘Chioma, your hair is still wet. Get up.’
‘Mum, it will dry slowly as I sleep,’Chioma said with a yawn.
‘No, you’ll get sick.’
