The moment I met you (Chapter 196)

  By Nightengale Ben-Onyeukwu

‘Mum, dad.’ Both of the girls greeted their parents excitedly.

‘You’re going out?’Isabelle raised an eyebrow.

‘Yup,’Audrey answered.

‘Your birthday is fast approaching, Audrey. You shouldn’t be out in the night to avoid scandal,’said Isabelle. She was wearing a turquoise dress, black pumps and a Chanel clutch while Nicholas was in a stunning navy blue suit. ‘After your birthday, you’re free to go out at night.’

Audrey rubbed her brows a little. She seemed a little sad as she said, ‘I’ve already bought tickets.’

‘There is nothing wrong with discarding a dress that didn’t fit.’

‘Mum, what has this got to do with a dress?’Audrey was sad. She looked up at her father with a pitiable expression. ‘Dad, we’re both your daughters. Can you let us go?’

‘Fine. I’ll let you both go but after your birthday.’Nicholas replied, and then went inside with Isabelle.

Audrey didn’t know whether to cry or laugh. She had no choice than to walk back inside with Celine.

‘I’m bringing you home,’Michael said as they stepped outside. ‘Get in.’

Chioma obediently boarded the car. Her mind was still occupied with the thought of visiting Michael’s home. She had read about the Njemanze villa being lavishly made of money. Plus, it had everything, from butler to maid. Michael’s family truly lived an extremely luxurious life. But she had been a lowly girl from a poor home. How should she step into the majestic villa that was like living in heaven while on earth?

Michael’s eyes slightly twitched as he let out a smirk. ‘You don’t need to think deep into it… we’ll have to shop for a suitable outfit.’
