The moment I met you (Chapter 215)

  By Nightengale Ben-Onyeukwu

Jessica sighed and said after a while, ‘As if I have a choice.’

Robert smiled. ‘I will try to create a good chance for you.’ Then, he walked inside.

A light rain began to fall at this moment; Jessica looked a bit far away and saw a man and a woman walking side-by-side. As the weather was getting a bit cold due to the rain, the lady with the man wrapped her arm tightly around herself as she rubbed her hands together to get warm.

She was pregnant; Jessica could see her growing baby bump.  Jessica wanted to turn away but stopped when she saw what the man with the young woman did. He had taken off his jacket and placed it on the woman or rather his wife from behind, then pulled her into his warm embrace and walking away with her. They seemed to be officially married, and wasn’t ashamed to show off their public display of affection.

Tears suddenly stole into Jessica’s eyes as she kept on staring at the lovely couple. She was certain Michael would take off his coat or jacket at this moment for Chioma if she was feeling cold, but he wouldn’t do the same for her. Michael would never play love rain with her but he would never hesitate to do it over and over again with Chioma.

‘Michael, I actually didn’t want to continue pursuing you…but I couldn’t do it. I have tried but still couldn’t convince myself to let you go.’Jessica raised her hand and casually wiped away tears, as her eyes were still focusing on the couple as they disappeared out of sight. ‘I love you, Michael. I have loved you the moment I was born.’

Jessica still stood at the spot letting out her thoughts. She cried till she was tired of crying. Then, like a moronic imbecile or better put, like an idiot, she started laughing.  Turning away, she headed for the front desk to book a room.

With the thought that Daniel was going to be her escort, Audrey studied herself in the mirror. The hired professional foreign stylists had spent hours preparing her, making her look more beautiful than she was. Already, Audrey was a breathtaking girl, but for tonight’s birthday party which was her official coming- of- age and her debut, much preparation was made to make Audrey surpass everyone that would grace the occasion.
