Robert chuckled. ‘I read from an article sometimes ago that in a world of powerful men in pooling trouser hems and knuckle-skimming jacket sleeves, your well-tailored, just-the-right-side-of-slim suits are a refreshing change.’
‘The writer was referring to former president Barack Obama, right?’Michael said without warmth. ‘Learn to give people their credit. Don’t give it to someone else just because you want to curry favour.’
Lowering his head from embarrasement, Robert hurried out to get the blues. He walked out with the suit, passing it to Christopher, he gestured for him to go and change into it.
After changing into the classy suit, Christopher walked out looking refreshing. ‘Sometimes all blue is what we need,’Christopher said, smiling.
‘Yup. It’s far more approachable get-up than going monochrome,’Robert added.
‘Thank you, sir,’Christopher said to Michael.
‘The dress isn’t yours to keep. You still have to return it later.’Michael rose up. ‘We can only eat breakfast if today’s meeting with the governor goes in favour of us.’ He gave both Robert and Christopher a stern look and, turning, he left.
Perhaps it was breakfast that was mentioned that made Robert’s stomach begin to trouble him. Robert was hungry. Glancing around, he saw a fruit bowl atop the coffee table, picking up a strawberry from the bowl, he bit into it and followed Michael out. Christopher followed them as well, and off the three of them headed for the Lagos State House on the Mainland.
After having breakfast, bathing and changing into a collared shirt, which she paired with a blue and white pleated skirt, Audrey headed out of her room, bumping into Isabelle by the stairs. Isabella was dressed for work, wearing a grand Valentino metallic brocade dress with a rose gold clutch, nude heels and cream coat. Her hair was neatly styled. She was heading for work at the Central Bank of Nigeria headquarters, which was the foremost and apex financial institution here in Nigeria.
