The Moment I Met You (Chapter 359)

 By Nightengale Ben-Onyeukwu

‘I refuse to believe Jessica won’t fight back at all,’Audrey said suspiciously to Celine when Jessica left. ‘Just the thought of the humiliation Michael had put her through, will make her tear Chioma into a million pieces.’

‘I don’t care about Chioma, I only care about Michael. She hurt my brother, so I can’t just forgive her…’

The fact that Michael had allowed the engagement party, and even changed into a luxury suit because of it, meant he accepted what to come, even if it was the media and their silly stories.

But Jessica didn’t realise this and accepted to be engaged to Michael. Truthfully, it’s possible this opportunity may have been deliberately given to Jessica so that Michael would put a stop to marry her. Though Michael wasn’t aware of this, he was still glad his parents acted foolishly today, and not only did he embarrass Jessica, he also made the world know that he was only in love with Chioma Chima. Instead of announcing his engagement to Jessica, he had to announce his relationship with Chioma.

Felix always knew that Patricia and Edward didn’t like Chioma for Michael, and he could understand why they never liked her, but never could he have imagined that they would actually go as far as organising an engagement party without telling Michael about it. He was also in love with Chioma, but that doesn’t mean he would do despicable things. He felt that this method was too cruel. But then, Michael wasn’t just some kind of man that would cower at things like this. He was like a king, and wasn’t afraid of anyone.

At this thought, he raised his head and looked up at the luxurious chandeliers. With a deep breath, he turned around to look at Celine who just appeared, holding two glasses of wine in her hands, suddenly asking in a calm voice, ‘Do you still hate Chioma? Would you have hated her if I had married her?’

‘Yes, I still hate her for hurting you,’answered Celine as she handed him one of the glass. ‘But, what can I say, my opinion doesn’t matter anyway. She belongs to Michael.’

Felix nodded. ‘I know but it hurts to see her suffering so much.’

‘She is not for you to worry about. I wonder what she would have done if Michael put that ring on Jessica, Chioma would have been screwed for sure.’

Felix didn’t say more. He took a sip of his wine as he looked around the living room for Michael. Finally, he spotted him clinking wine glasses with a group of successful young moguls. Their eyes met as he nodded. He seemed to be telling him that he was all right.

Felix nodded. The two brothers understood each other’s thoughts. Michael took a sip of his wine before turning back to the man beside him.

Felix turned back his attention to Celine and said, ‘If Michael wasn’t my brother and someone that I love so much, I would never have given up Chioma.’

‘I know, but I am glad big brother Michael is your brother.’

‘Why is that?’Felix looked at Celine and asked.

‘The answer is obvious. I don’t like her…because you are hurting because of her.’

Felix’s lips curved to an attractive angle before saying, ‘You will get wrinkles if you hate Chioma.’

‘I don’t really hate her; I only hate her because you are hurt.’  Celine pinched his nose lovingly and Felix smiled.
