The Moment I Met You (Chapter 363)

  By Nightengale Ben-Onyeukwu

On the other side, Jessica had already scheduled for 9am press conference. She was to appear before the press to clear the doubts of those who saw the news as false. Rebecca had asked Jessica to do it. At this moment in time, the press conference was about to start and Jessica was prepared to go on stage. Jessica was wearing a pale blue deep-v-dress and her hair was brushed to one side with soft curls. Her look was extremely eye-catching. She was indeed blessed with breathtaking beauty. She was born with perfect body which complimented her clothing no matter what she wore.

‘Jess, you will be going on stage soon,’Rebecca said to Jessica, dressed in a lemon coat with a matching hat and a leopard print scarf. ‘Tell them your relationship with Michael. Do it in such a way that Michael would never dream of going back to that bitch.’

‘Jess, don’t be afraid, we will be here for you,’Julia cheered.

Jessica nodded. She doesn’t look afraid, because she was fighting for the man that she loves the most in this world. Right now in her heart, apart from hoping for success, she also hoped that Michael wouldn’t come to ruin everything for her, hoped her marriage with Michael would happen soon.

‘Now, go on,’Julia smiled, escorting Jessica out of the waiting room. Julia felt that if Jessica succeeds in wining Michael over, then, she would have Nathan to herself. If Jessica doesn’t succeed with Michael, that means Jessica would make-do with Nathan, while she would be kicked out of the ring.   Julia wouldn’t want that, so she would do anything for Jessica to have Michael so as to push her way to Nathan.

Jessica had been in front of the spotlights since Chioma became her love rival. As she stepped up to the front stage, she glanced around at the reporters who were eagerly waiting to interview her. The hall fit about 200 seats, so apart from the reporters; Jessica had hired some people to come inside the hall. She knew that apart from people here, plenty of people would be watching her through their screens. She would take this opportunity to increase her popularity.

Facing the reporters’ with a sweet smile, Jessica said, ‘Good morning everyone, I am Jessica Nnaji, the daughter of Imo State governor, and Michael’s fiancée.’

‘Welcome Jessica, we are honoured to be invited by you because we all know your popularity has been on the rise recently, especially since a certain someone came in between you and Michael. We are also very thankful for you to have called us so as to clarify the doubts of most people regarding your relationship with Michael,’one of the reporters’s calmly said. ‘May I ask you a question?’ The reporter tried her best not to anger Jessica.

   ‘You’re welcome to speak.’

‘I believe you know that Michael supposedly loves a girl named Chioma. Could you please tell us why Michael decided to marry you instead of that girl?’

Jessica scoffed. ‘To Michael, Chioma was like a puppy soaked in the rain. My Michael doesn’t love her; he was only trying to show sympathy towards her. There is nothing wrong with gifting charity sometimes, right?’

The reporter that had asked the question nodded. ‘There is nothing wrong with that.’

‘Good. That was why I didn’t do anything to stop Michael helping her. I am not Mother Teresa; however, I would never stop the good of others. Besides, before that girl appeared into our lives, Michael was still going to marry me anyway.’

‘Miss Jessica, can you tell us about your engagement with Moon Corporation’s prince. Are you guys announcing your wedding soon?’

Jessica pretended to be a little shy as she said, ‘About that, I’m not going to say anything now, but once the date for our wedding is fixed, I’ll be sure to share it with everyone.’

At this moment, the people watching the live stream online, cheered, everyone wanted to congratulate Michael and Jessica while Chioma was lashed with insults.

‘Congratulations! Jessica and Michael forever.’

‘Happy ever after.’

‘Perfect couple.’

‘I wonder how Chioma will react. She might hang herself. She’s such a jinx.’

‘I knew that trash can never match up with young master Michael.’

‘Our Michael would obviously find Chioma dirty since he is germaphobic.’

‘Ha ha ha…Jessica is so cool that I need to rewind her voice every morning just to listen to her romantic voice.’

‘Me too, me too! Jessica’s my idol…’

‘Apart from Jessica, who would match up with Michael…no one!’
