The Moment I Met You (Chapter 370)

By Nightengale Ben-Onyeukwu

‘Next time…I won’t let you come here and lie on the sofa,’she pouted.

Michael couldn’t help but laugh more. So that means she wanted him to come next time? His laugh deepened at the thought as his handsome face drew near to hers. The distance between them was so close that his sexy lips looked as though he was going to kiss her. He was glad that she likes the fact that he was here with her, glad she was also in love with him. Love was a two-way street.   He was the happiest man on earth, knowing that the woman he loves loves him back.

‘Are you going to deny me this one request?’Michael asked deliberately. His voice sounded so mellifluous that it could move a person, Chioma was no exception. He could feel her heart beat very fast; he could feel her drawn to this magnetic voice of his.

However, before his soft lips sealed her mouth, the phone on the centre table started ringing. He wanted to ignore it or rather smash the phone onto the floor, but remembered Felix was to meet with a client today. He stood up and took his phone to have a look. It was a call from Audrey instead. He didn’t expect Audrey to call him at this moment, so he was a little bit annoyed for she had shattered this moment for him.

Chioma grasped the opportunity and hurriedly escaped from the sofa, running like a wife who was escaping from her home. ‘I am going to run away from you,’Chioma said, running into her bedroom.

After the call got connected, Audrey’s voice was heard, ‘Big brother…you are still with Chioma?’

Smiling, Michael replied, ‘Yes, why do you ask?’

Audrey chuckled excitedly. ‘I wanted you to take me out for shopping…’

‘Next time…I was hoping to do that with Chioma today,’Michael said in a low voice which was mesmerising.

‘Promise?’ Audrey giggled at the thought of Michael finding time to take her out for a shopping.

‘Mmm, promise,’Michael said. After hanging up, Michael tilted his head towards Chioma’s bedroom. He walked to the bedroom and knocked on the door. ‘Chioma, why are you hiding in your bedroom.

After a moment of silence, Chioma answered in an adorable manner, ‘I am feeling sleepy.’ She yawned, pretending to be feeling sleepy.

‘I’ll kick the door open if you don’t open it, you know that I am stronger than James Bond,’ Michael said proudly.

‘You…go to your office, as the president of a big company you can’t be seen chasing after a little woman from the slums,’Chioma said hurriedly.

‘I am in love with the little woman from the slums but she doesn’t like me. I will leave you now,’Michael feigned angry, as he pretended to leave.

Hearing that he was leaving, Chioma hurriedly opened the door. She was hugging her pink pillow. Not daring to look up at Michael.

‘Why are you nervous? I was only asking you to come out with me,’Michael said.

Chioma frowned at him. ‘Was that the reason why I ran away from you?’

‘Can you remind me, I have forgotten already,’Michael feigned not to remember as he walked forward and hugged her with his arms. ‘Okay, just call me hubby, and I will let it go.’

Chioma widen her eyes in astonishment. Michael’s handsome face was staring at her. He didn’t seem to be joking.

‘Hubby…call me hubby.'

Michael’s voice was so enchanting that Chioma couldn’t help but feel his warmth and could smell his familiar scent. As she felt secured in his arms, she called out shyly, ‘Hubby.’

Michael smiled sweetly, and then lowered his head to take a look. He could see a lovely smile on her face; her brows shook lightly, as if she enjoyed calling him hubby. She can’t wait to call him that in the future.

Releasing her from the hug, he placed his chin on her neck and said in a magnetic voice, ‘Let’s go.’ With that he took her hand and led her out of the room. The two headed out in the black sports car he had come with.

Reaching one of the luxurious shopping mall in the city,  Michael took Chioma’s hand and walked inside. Michael had already called Robert over, so he was there before they arrived.

‘Miss Chioma,’Robert politely greeted her.

Chioma nodded with a smile.
