At Star Restaurant, Andrew, Daniel, Audrey, as well as Chioma and Chisom sat down by the window. The restaurant was bustling with several hundreds of people, and this was all thanks to Michael whose popularity had turned this local restaurant into the most popular restaurant in Abuja.
Chioma hadn't seen such a rowdy scene ever since she began working here. Today, she hadn't come here with Chisom to work but to have a little time with her brother and friends. Emeka had approved of it anyway. Of course, Emeka wouldn't mind giving Chioma a week off because she was the reason for the high sales at Star Restaurant.
Chioma was wearing a floral dress and simple black sandals. She didn’t have any makeup on, but her face was nice to look at. Audrey was elegantly dressed in a camel coat, a black and white dress, black tights, heeled ankle boots and a black Dior handbag. Chisom wore a white button-down-denim shirt dress and white sneakers. Daniel was dressed in casual floral shirt and matching trousers and Andrew looked handsome in his blue tracksuit and white sneakers.
Daniel lowered his head as he looked at the buckets of Kentucky Fried Chicken, pineapple rice, salad, spaghetti, fried fish and plantain, bottles of banana milk and didn't know where to begin. The truth was he already had lunch at his shop before he received a call from Audrey that she wanted to eat at Star Restaurant.
Daniel took a bite of his boneless chicken breast and immediately nodded his head at how delicious the meat was. 'I am full from the lunch I ate before going here...but I still suffer myself to eat because of the Kentucky fried chicken.' The aroma of the crispy fried chicken, the golden brown batter’s earthy and fiery flavour, plus the tender and juicy chicken underneath made the chicken yummy-yummy. Who wouldn’t want to eat the chicken even after being full?
Audrey lowered her head and also took a big bite of her chicken drumstick. Then, she smiled, 'I was hoping you wouldn't eat it so I could finish them for you...'
To her surprise, Daniel took his fork, picked up the chicken in Audrey's plate, and placed it onto his.
'What are you doing, Mr Daniel?' Audrey glared at him, feigning appalled.
'Didn't you indirectly tell me to eat your food?' Daniel took a bite of the chicken after he spoke.
'Enough of your PDA,' Chisom pouted.
'It's fine, Chisom. We can make them jealous as well,' Andrew said, laughing.
While they ate and chatted happily, they didn't hear the sound of a camera clicking in the corner of the restaurant. Even if they heard the clicking of the camera, Chioma and her friends wouldn't mind at all. They couldn't be bothered with little things like that.
Just then, Celine and Catherine arrived, each carrying a shopping bag. As they went to join Audrey and her friends, the diners were fangirling over them. There was plenty of excitement as they girls elegantly went to the table.
Celine wore an oversize red parka, denim shorts over opaque black tights, black zip-up ankle boots. She had applied red lipstick on her thin lips and she wore her hair down. The wind from the open window blew gently at her long flowing hair, causing her to look like a movie star. Anyway, her status was more than that of a movie star. She was a princess of the popular Njemanze family.
On the other hand, Catherine wore a denim pinafore over a button down and completed the look with sleek boxer braids, black choker and tan coloured chukka boots. She looked pure, fresh and beautiful.
After the wonderful meal, they headed homeward. Audrey was bored in the car, and she began group video call on Whatsapp with them. The chauffeur was driving the Range Rover with Audrey in the passenger seat while Andrew, Daniel, Chioma and Chisom Ubered. The uber followed closely behind the Range Rover, and they made fun at each other on Whatsapp, making their drive home very enjoyable.
