At this moment, Nathan was out at sea drinking with Jessica, Erica, Sharon and Johnson. They had sailed to a seaside in Lagos State and would be back for Celine’s birthday.
When Nathan kissed Jessica, Johnson raised his glass of champagne at Nathan and laughed. ‘I will have to show this to the world,’ he said as he pulled out his phone to send messages on Whatsapp after which he took a photo of Nathan and Jessica.
‘Johnson, are they having an affair at the sea? Do you wish to do the same with Sharon?’ Erica teased. She was wearing a red turtleneck sweater, topped off with a black trench coat. Her beautiful dark hair was styled into voluminous curls which luxuriantly flowed down the back of her body.
Before Johnson could reply, Sharon answered, ‘My boyfriend is capable of anything. You’re the only single bone.’
Johnson broke into laughter.
‘So, my sister wants me to cry, right?’ Erica joked, pretending to cry. ‘Hey, I just uploaded a selfie.’ Erica raised her phone, smiling happily again.
‘I didn’t know you wanted a boyfriend so quickly.’ Nathan turned to Erica and laughed. Jessica was now leaning on his shoulder as the sea breeze blew at them.
Erica held up the wine glass in her hand and smiled at Nathan. ‘I am already dating Lee Min Ho.’
Hearing what Erica said, they burst into laughter.
‘Why are you laughing?’ Erica pouted.
‘When will you introduce him to us?’ Sharon laughed, knowing that she was joking. She was in a beautiful blue summer dress.
‘Anytime,’ Erica shrugged. ‘I told him that I would like it if we have our own ski resort with snow as it’s theme…then, it will have hot springs, a skating rink, and when we are in the hot spring, it will be snowing, just like in Asian love stories.’
‘Did he agree to it?’ Sharon chuckled.
‘I haven’t told him yet,’ Erica said and they laughed. They knew that Erica was joking.
Jessica looked up at the sky, enjoying the beauty of it. She was in a simple white dress.
‘You like the beautiful sky?’ Nathan looked dotingly at her.
Jessica nodded. ‘Yea, the cloud looks like white cotton candy floating in the crystal blue sky,’ she breathed. ‘It’s beautiful.’ She was at peace and happy for this very moment.
Felix sat in his majestically spacious office. He was on the phone speaking to Prince as he took a sip of his coffee. He was also looking through the proposal for a project.
'I know you love my sister but is the party necessary?' Felix asked in his magnetic voice.
'The invitation cards are ready...I already promised Celine. I want to fulfill it to her,' Prince smiled.
Felix stood up and walked over to the window. ‘I can't stop your decision. Besides, she’s your girlfriend and you should be showing us that you’re grateful.'
Prince laughed excitedly. 'Thanks...I was hoping you could come with...' Prince wanted to ask Felix to bring Catherine along but paused, for fear of not wanting to anger Felix.
'I understand your intentions,' Felix said, hung up the call, then, he grabbed his jacket and went to Michael's luxurious office.
Michael looked up from the documents he was signing when he saw him. 'Are you all right?' Michael was a bit worried.
'I'm fine.'
'But you look confused.'
'I am confused because you're in love with the woman that I deeply love.' Felix looked at the window and noticed the sunset.
Michael closed the documents in his hands and looked at Felix with interest.'Is there something you want to say to me?'
Felix shoved his hands in his pockets and said, 'In that case I will love you to give me Chioma.'
Hearing this, Michael laughed slightly. 'You know that I can't do that? Besides, I know that you can't do that either. You didn't come here to tell me this but rather to talk to me about the girl that came home with Celine. I know you still love Chioma and wouldn't fight with you if she chose you over me...but as it is now, I know you should move on...that girl seems good for you...'
Felix took a deep breath. It looked like he was trying to process what Michael said. However, just as he was about to speak, he received a phone call from Audrey. 'Big brother Felix....is big brother around?'
'Why?'
'I just wanted to know,' Audrey giggled.
'He's here...' Felix passed the phone over to Michael. 'Audrey wants to rip you off,' he joked.
'How much do you want?' Michael teased Audrey as soon as he received the phone.
Audrey laughed and said, 'That's not why I called...I was expecting you to have announced your wedding date with Chioma but you skipped that part. Remember I jokingly told everyone about getting married to Daniel this year...but I want you and Chioma to open the marriage before Daniel and I will follow...'
'After Celine's sweet-sixteen party then we will talk about that. Anyway, the wedding will be after Celine’s birthday party.'
‘Such a short notice,’ Audrey muttered.
‘And many people will cancel their appointments just to be there,’ Michael said. ‘Rich folks don’t need time to prepare only the poor needs such time to print millions of envelope for people who will stuff the envelopes with two thousand naira and in the end you pay off debts with the little money received…Anyway, everything about the wedding is being taken care of. Relax.’
After speaking for a few minutes, Michael hung up the call and continued his conversation with Felix. When Felix left Michael he left for home in his black Maybach. Reaching home, he walked inside to find Catherine lying on the sofa. Trying his best not to look at the sleeping beauty, he headed upstairs. But as he stepped on the stairs, she slowly opened her eyes.
'Big brother Felix, you're home.' She was wearing an emerald top under a black camisole romper.
'When did you become my security guard?' Felix raised his eyebrows.
Catherine lifted her head and looked towards Felix's direction. 'You know I don't care whether you return or not? I was politely greeting you. So, don't over think it.'
Felix didn't say another word. He turned around and headed for his room.
