The Moment I Met You (Chapter 594)

By Nightengale Ben-Onyeukwu

Late into the night, at the Diamond Gardens, Felix lay across his sofa as he drank from the wine glass in his hand. On his body was a set of thin pyjamas and the heater in his room wasn't turned on.

Just then, Audrey walked inside with Celine. 'Big brother, shouldn't you be with big brother Michael right now?' Audrey asked.

'Is Michael here?' Felix asked with his eyes half closed as he lifted the wine glass to his lips.

'I am here,' Michael walked inside and said with a smile.

Immediately Felix rose up from the sofa and put away the wine he was drinking. Michael had come to share some time alone with Felix, and now he was here, Felix quickly changed into a casual outfit, grabbed his jacket and the two of them left to a luxurious 5-star hotel.

Sitting on the rooftop of this high-end hotel, there was a dazzling view of the starry night sky and impressive cityscape. Michael was glowing with the smile of a man who was getting married to the woman of his dreams while Felix was like a man who had lost in the game of love. But he was still happy for Michael, and so didn't feel any regret for losing to him.

Having these two men in this hotel, the waiters serving them were anxious because to them, Michael and Felix were like ancient emperors. How could they not feel anxious?

The two men quietly enjoyed their meal as they chatted happily.

At that same moment, Chioma stood by the window looking out to the shimmering star-filled sky and the moonlight looked mystical and beautiful than any fantasy.

'It's getting late, Chioma. Better come to bed now.' Louisa's soft voice startled her. She had been standing behind Chioma quietly watching her as she was unwilling to break into her thoughts. But it was already getting very late and she needed to sleep so as to get a refreshing morning.

Louisa stroked her daughter's hair gently. Your wedding tomorrow just reminded me of my own wedding. My mother didn't want me to leave her, but she had no choice because marriage was something good. I had not lived a life of luxury with Magnus but was still very happy with him. But your life will be both filled with luxury and happiness, Louisa reflected. Michael already was one of the richest men in the world. He has everything life has to offer and most of all, Michael truly loved Chioma. Yes, my lovely little daughter will be well taking care of, she thought, feeling happiness spread on her face.

Chioma turned around and looked at Louisa. 'I love you so much mother, ' she said as she gave her mother a hug. 'I never thought about how much I would miss you until now.' She planted a kiss on Louisa's cheek and whispered, 'I love you, mum.' Then she took Louisa's hand and they walked towards the bed. Tomorrow was the day, and as Chioma lay on the bed, she couldn't help but think about everything that had happened in her life since she met Michael.

It was dawn and a magnificent sunrise lit the sky with pink and orange stripes. Today was the day that most people had been waiting for, waiting to witness this wedding that would stand the test of time, for this wedding that would not only be engraved in the media or books but also in the hearts of men. Everything seems colourful and beautiful.

Patricia and Isabelle had suggested for a beachside wedding since it was going to be a large wedding but Michael objected it and suggested for a church wedding because he wanted this wedding to be recognised by GOD. That was how much he loved Chioma. He wanted everything to be perfect.  It was finally decided that the wedding would be held in Church of the Holyghost Mission, one of the largest churches in Abuja. Then after the wedding, a warm romantic candlelit dinner scheduled for the wedding reception will be held in Aso Rock, the presidential villa.

The wedding was already been broadcasted on every channel, and the city bustling with luxury cars heading for the wedding venue. Gradually everyone kept arriving at the church, dressed in their most gorgeous dresses. This was a grand wedding, so every guest attending came in their best.

Michael had wanted Chioma and her friends to sleep over at Paradise Hotel where they would be dressed up for the wedding, but Chioma declined the offer. She wanted to go to her own wedding from her home and not from the seven-star hotel, and this was because, she wanted to spend her last moment with her friends and family. Michael didn't object with her decision as he hired professional makeup artists to come over to the house this morning and do the best makeup on Chioma and everyone from her family attending the wedding.

Andrew, who was already dressed in a high-end Versace Navy blue suit with a red tie, went outside to receive a call from Felix, and when he was through with the call and about to get inside, he noticed Robert and Peter, both dressed in grey suit with matching tie, walking towards him. Behind them were several men in black suit and tie with dignified faces awaiting to escort them to the wedding.

Robert and Peter were obviously assigned by Michael to bring them to the church. Andrew turned to them with a lovely smile. He knew who they were, so it was only natural to welcome them warmly.

'We are here to bring everyone to church. Boss Michael can't wait any longer to see his queen,' Robert said with a smile.

Pleasantly smiling, Andrew shook hands with Robert, then with Peter. 'It's unexpected that the two assistants of the great Moon Corporation are here to lead us to the wedding venue, I'm already overwhelmed by this.'

'Today's a big day and our reward comes with big packages,' Peter joked.

'Don't worry, your stomach won't be disappointed,' Andrew smiled.

After everyone was ready, both Robert and Peter led them to the black Maybach cars, and Chioma got into a white luxurious stretched Cadillac limousine, it was very grand and decorated for the wedding. The escorts followed behind in a pack of BMW 7 series cars.

The cars got on the road in a grand style. In the stretched limo, Chioma couldn't stop beaming from ear to ear. She was the happiest bride in the world. Michael wasn't just handsome; he was caring and would make a good husband.

'Madam, drink this,' a waiter in formal attire, served Chioma with a glass of watermelon juice that was stored in the car's refrigerator.

'No, thanks.' Chioma declined with a simile. She only want a taste of the man she was going to marry and not a taste of this juice, which might ruin the real taste when it was time for her to taste her husband. Her thought seems weird, but then, she couldn't help but smile.

Half an hour later, the luxurious church came into view and the fleet of vehicles gradually entered the headquarters of Church of the Holyghost Mission, which had an enormous white building with high-end pews. It had a classic modern western building and beautiful gardens and lawns. The pathways were well manicured. Everything about this church was perfect and beautiful to behold.

Then, everyone apart from Chioma stepped out of the car. As the bride, she would be the last to enter the grand hall of the church and once she enters, the large door would be closed and the wedding ceremony would commence. But right at this moment, the wedding planners were busy welcoming everyone into the church and music flowed sweetly, warming everyone's hearts.

There were about a hundred security guards and a former Israeli officer who made sure that the place was well guarded. Michael had spent about five hundred thousand dollars on security because he wouldn't want anything to go wrong on this special day. Also, hundred dollars had been put on flowers. To him, what would a wedding be without tens of thousands of dollars worth of flowers?
