The moment I met you (Chapter 72)

By Nightengale Ben-Onyeukwu

Chisom was a smart girl and knew that Chioma didn’t want to answer the question. She did not press it. ‘Well, we don’t know who this mysterious girlfriend of Michael is. But whoever it was will be very intelligent and beautiful. Poor folks don’t stand a chance except in drama series.’

‘I have never raised my hope,’ Chioma muttered. Finishing her drink, she ate the last bite of her pineapple bun, stood up. ‘Let’s get back to work.’

Chisom handed tissue over for Chioma to wipe her hands. As they began serving another set of customers that entered the restaurant, the group of girls waved Chioma over.

Chioma went to them. They still were talking about Michael and his personal life. Chioma could only smile at them whenever they looked at her.

A girl said teasingly to Chioma, ‘Waitress, stop smiling, you know that Michael will never run after you. You can only fall in love with him secretly but not openly.’

The other girls smiled, and glared at Chioma.

‘What do you want to order?’ Chioma asked calmly.

‘Wait!’ one of the girls seemed to remember something. ‘Aren’t you the girl that played accident scene with Michael?’ she asked, looking up at Chioma.

‘No way, Julia! This girl isn’t qualified to play accident scene with my idol,’ one of them refuted with her voice laced with infatuation. ‘Young master Michael is so handsome that heaven wouldn’t give him an ugly bitch as a wife.’

‘Isn’t there something you will like to order? Well, seeing that you girls are having Michael for lunch I rather not waste my time.’
