The moment I met you (Chapter 74)

 By Nightengale Ben-Onyeukwu

It was time to go home for the day. Chisom and Chioma stood by the road side waiting for a taxi as they chatted. After a couple of minutes, Chioma flagged down a taxi heading her way home.

Before Chisom boarded the taxi, she reminded Chioma to call her neighbour who was a taxi driver. Chioma nodded with a smile, waving her goodbye.   When the taxi disappeared out of sight, Chioma took out her phone from her bag and dialed Segun’s number.

Luckily for her, her neighbour’s number connected at once. She had been worried that Segun would be busy on the road and might not have the chance to pick up.

‘Segun, I can’t find a taxi. Are you home already?’

‘No, Chioma. Where are you?’

‘I’m outside Star restaurant… waiting for a taxi.’ Chioma could hear car honks, indicating that Segun was still driving or rather on the road.

‘Let me drop a passenger close by. I’ll come and get you.’

‘Thanks,’ Chioma said and hung up.

Just as she was about putting her phone back into her bag, a black Lamborghini stopped in front of her. Chioma was afraid that she wanted to run but paused when the person in the car gracefully stepped out. The person was Michael Njemanze, the most handsome man in the world. What does he want? Did he come to look for trouble? Has he come to abduct me?

‘Chioma, come on.’ Segun said waving at her.

As if to be saved by the bell, Chioma ran towards Segun’s car.
