The moment I met you (Chapter 75)

 By Nightengale Ben-Onyeukwu

She quickly opened the passenger’s seat and hurried in. ‘Drive!’ Chioma hurried Segun to start the engine.

When they drove distance away, Segun glanced at Chioma and asked, ‘What was that? He noticed her weird behaviour.

Chioma smiled and shook her head. ‘It’s nothing. Anyway, do you have any water? I’m thirsty.’

‘I don’t have water but pineapple juice.’ Segun looked at her. ‘Care for it?’

‘Yes, thanks,’ she said, taking the bottle of juice. It seemed she felt sudden thirst at the appearance of Michael. Gulping down the juice, she licked her lips after she finished the delicious pineapple-flavoured juice. She was indeed satisfied, and it looks like her thirst was quenched. What about her thirst for Michael whom she left standing helplessly by the road. She was puzzled. She was afraid of what to do but not giving Michael the chance to speak to her was all she could think of at that moment. She regretted what she had done and wished that Michael would understand why she had done that instead of being mad.

Meanwhile, Michael kept staring at the disappearance of Chioma until his phone began to ring. Not glancing at who the caller was, he went back to his car and drove away. Was he rejected just now by her? He thought as he drove home. Should he be mad because of what she did? No, it seemed Michael wasn’t annoyed but rather he found the girl interesting, thereby giving him the urge to pursue her more.
