The moment I met you (Chapter 102)

  By Nightengale Ben-Onyeukwu

‘Chioma, you have female suitors too. You’re like-able and good.’

Hearing the praise, Chioma slightly blushed, bit her natural pink smooth lips, and shyly and softly she said, ‘Thank you, sir.’ Facing this unique lady whose presence captivated her surroundings, Emeka felt like stroking her face which was as smooth as pearl. But he knew it was wrong, for she was nothing but his staff. ‘Audrey gave you these.’ He pointed at the boxes.

Chioma looked surprised. ‘She gave them to me?’

Emeka nodded.

‘Has she left already?’ Chioma asked, glancing around, thinking Audrey was here in the restaurant.

‘She left already.’

‘I will take them away now.’ Chioma carried the boxes, heading for the store by the side to drop them. Emeka followed her immediately. As she opened the door and placed the boxes atop the table by the window, and turned to leave the room, she was startled to see Emeka standing by the door with his arms folded across his chest. Something seemed to be bothering him.

Chioma didn’t say a word. She stared at him for a moment, and then coughed slightly.

‘Chioma…’
