‘I’m so sorry, sir...’ Chioma quickly apologised.
Chisom immediately walked over handing Chioma a piece of napkin which she used to clean the edge of her dress. She was still in her uniform, as a waitress of Star Restaurant. Chisom giggled gently, it seemed she was enjoying this romance scene.
‘What
do you want?’ Chioma asked, not daring to look into the man’s eyes. His eyes
were perfect and seducing.
‘What I want is already here.’
Michael gazed at her without blinking, His eyes full of emotions that were too
complicated to explain.
Pretending
to misunderstand what he meant, Chioma stood up. ‘Since, what you want is in
the restaurant I better go.’
But Michael was too quick to grab her
hand. This was the woman he was willing to give unlimited love and pampering.
He was deeply in love with her.
‘Let me go,’ Chioma said in a whisper, withdrawing her hand as she looked timidly at him.
He looked at her straight in the eyes.
The customers in the restaurant started whispering to one another.
‘Why did the king leave his throne just to be with this lowly woman?’
‘That’s right. I heard that he treats his girlfriend aloof and coldly. Why is his treatment to Chioma different? Is she his heart’s better half, as they say in movies?’
