The moment I met you (Chapter 128)

 By Nightengale Ben-Onyeukwu

‘She must have bewitched him.’

‘Chioma is a very good girl, but she is no match to Michael… there’s no thing as rich boy poor girl story. That exists only in movies…’

Chisom who was already feeling very displeased, turned to face those gossips and viciously snapped, ‘Shut your traps?’

‘Does your friend deserve this most influential man in the city?’

‘Wow! She doesn’t deserve him? Who then deserves him, you with decayed tooth?’ Chisom scoffed.

At the corner of the restaurant, Jessica was burning with rage. She had secretly followed Michael here without him noticing. Or perhaps, Michael saw her driving behind but pretended not to have noticed.

‘Chioma, you know why I am here. I know you know. I’m not the type to beat about the bush.’

With a bitter smile, Chioma said, ‘I’ve never told you to beat the bush; I hope you can let me go. I don’t want to attract gazers.’

‘Everyone’s already looking at you.’ It was obvious, but Michael didn’t seem to care. Robert on the other hand, didn’t say a word; he just placed the 99 roses and box of chocolate Michael asked him to buy, before Chioma. ‘Don’t you like the flowers?’ Michael asked gently.
