The moment I met you (Chapter 181)

  By Nightengale Ben-Onyeukwu

‘Yes…’Robert nodded with a sigh. ‘Sir Michael’s taste is…’ He paused, remembering Audrey was related to Michael.

‘Weird…’Audrey finished for him. ‘Well, I guess love makes us do silly things.’She glanced at her watch. ‘I should go. My brother is still in the meeting room. Tell him that I had to leave for Maitama Sule Street…meeting with Kimberly for my hand-out…’ With that she got into the designated elevator and headed out. Robert shrugged, and then turned away.

Meanwhile, after Jessica got into her black Rolls Royce, she let tears stream down her face. Her heart was hurting. After all these years, she had seen herself as the perfect match for Michael, as the only woman that would be his queen. She had imagined herself walking down the aisle with him in her long white wedding gown studded with precious stones, imagined the priest pronouncing both of them husband and wife, imagined watching the sunrise and sunset with him, imagined walking hand in hand with him on the streets, imagined watching the snow with him from their window whenever they travelled abroad. She had imagined accomplishing her future together with Michael. But, no, he got himself a lowly woman who was going to be a part of his future! She wouldn’t easily accept such a blow.

‘Do you know what happens to boyfriend snatcher? They won’t have a happy ending.’ After muttering these words, Jessica started the engine of her car and drove off to the Njemanze Villa. She was going to meet Patricia Njemanze at Danube Street located off Ibrahim Babangida way in Maitama.

The Njemanzes have their prestigious villa in Maitama. They also have other luxurious properties in Asokoro and other major districts here in Abuja. Apart from the vice president, not less than thirty serving and former governors have homes here.
