The moment I met you (Chapter 211)

 By Nightengale Ben-Onyeukwu

Once she arrived the Njemanze Villa she sat in the car for a long time until she stopped crying, and then she opened her bag and took out a packet of tissues to dry her face. Stepping out from the car, she walked into the luxurious house.

When Jessica entered inside, making her way to the living room, she saw Patricia walking down the stairs with a glass of wine in her hand.

‘You have been crying?’Patricia was sharp to notice her puffy eyes.

Jessica nooded as fresh tears filled her eyes. She ran to Patricia and embraced her.

‘I have told you never to hide your true self from me. If I didn’t know you I might think that you’re a hypocrite and extremely pretentious,’Patricia paused, stroking Jessica’s back soothingly. ‘You’re my girl and the only girl qualified to be with my son.’

‘I saw Michael kissing that witch!’

‘It was only a kiss. Michael has met so many girls, he could have kissed all of them…kissing doesn’t mean anything.’

‘But it does mean everything to me. Do you know why? Because Michael has never kissed before, let alone engage in any intimate acts. But he let that trash seduce him!’

Patricia knew that Michael had never been in any relationship before. Even though she had told everyone that Michael was engaged to marry Jessica, she knew how much Michael disliked such news but he didn’t say much about it. Because Michael felt that, his relationship with Jessica was a remoured relationship, nothing more. Jessica was his rumoured girlfriend and wouldn’t look at the trash news.

When Patricia got her to sit down, a maid brought over wine and poured two glasses and pushed one glass over to Jessica. She took a sip, and let out a deep breath. Finishing the entire glass, she said, ‘I feel better now.’
