Turning on the light, she reached for her phone that was charging by the wall close to the bedroom window, and she glanced at the screen to see an unregistered number which was obviously Felix’s.
‘Hello?’ Chioma answered in a low voice. ‘What do you want from me?’ she already has Michael whom she has romantic feelings for. She wouldn’t love any other man.
‘Where are you?’The person from the other side had a magnetic voice. Felix’s voice was as magnetic as Michael’s.
‘I’m already at home. Why do you ask?’
‘I know you’re at home already.’
‘How do you mean?’Chioma asked, confused.
‘Because I am already outside your house,’Felix said with a charming smile.
‘You what?’
‘Is it convienient for you to come out?’
‘No…I still have work tomorrow. I still need to bath…’
‘I love your excuses but I won’t leave this spot until I see you.’Felix said hanging up before Chioma could respond.
Chioma
knew Felix meant what he said. If she doesn’t go to meet him, he wouldn’t
leave. She was afraid he might run into anyone that knew her, and that might be
a big problem for her. Grabbing her orange jacket, she wrapped herself in it
and unwillingly headed outside. She met Andrew in the living room reading a
book. Pausing for a moment, she took off her slippers so she wouldn’t attract
Andrew’s attention. Then, like a cat, she snuck discreetly towards the front
door. Silently, she pulled on her slippers, and just like slow-motion in movies, Chioma gently pushed the door open and
carefully went out. Andrew, who was pretending to be reading, lifted his eyes
from his book, glancing towards the door. He had already seen Felix when he
arrived, knowing Chioma would come out to meet him, he quickly picked up the
book on the centre table, pretending to read.
