The moment I met you (Chapter 259)

By Nightengale Ben-Onyeukwu

‘Few minutes ago you had tears streaming down your face and now, it seems you’ve got the courage to fight just like in movies.’

Jessica shrugged with a smile. ‘I used to be weak and fragile, but when triggered, I can’t help but become powerful.’ Jessica wasn’t sure if Michael would pick up. However, after four rings, she heard Michael’s clear voice through the phone.

‘Hello?’ Michael was in the middle of high-level executive meeting, but had to pause to receive this call which had turned out to be nothing but a distraction. Anyway, he had only picked up the call because he felt the call had come from a client he was expecting to meet tonight by eight.

‘Yup,’Jessica replied, glancing at Sharon with her lips curled up as she covered the mouthpiece on her phone and asked her, ‘Do you have pictures of Felix and Chioma’s dance?’

Sharon shook her head. ‘No.’

Jessica removed her hand from the mouthpiece, and from the other side of the phone, she heard Michael ask in his magnetic voice, ‘Who are you to keep me hanging? Do you want me to use extreme measures against you?’

Jessica became a little bit afraid or rather nervous with what she was about to tell him. If she told Michael that Chioma was now flirting with Felix, would he believe her? She felt that it was best to set up a gallows that stands seventy-five feet tall for Chioma to hang herself on it, and it would be impossible for her to save herself. Anyone could dance with anyone, but that wasn’t in the case of Felix. Felix was just like Michael, he would never smile for you, if he doesn’t know or like you. But then, Jessica didn’t want her reporting Chioma to Michael to be like in movies, where she would end up being shamed for being a busybody. Setting up gallows would be perfect for her revenge. Besides, today, she had hired some gunmen or rather unknown gunmen to teach Chioma a lesson of which no one would suspect her.

Michael waited for a while but hearing nothing, said coldly, ‘Why aren’t you saying anything? Do you need a speaking aid?’
