The moment I met you (Chapter 262)

By Nightengale Ben-Onyeukwu

Chioma knew exactly what Michael meant. She responded with a reassuring smile. But with the thought of Felix coming over to pick her up this evening, she felt afraid and wanted to escape from him. Chioma, who was outside speaking to Michael on the phone, quickly went back inside after hanging up. She wanted to gather her things and head home before Felix arrives here. As soon as Emmanuella and Dara saw Chioma, their face was filled with mixed reactions of disgust, hate and mockery.

Chioma pretended not to notice their reaction. She walked over to the changing room and pushed the door open as her gaze fell at the back of Julia’s head.

‘You’re here to change…’Julia turned around holding back her anger.

‘As long as I remember, you don’t work here.’

‘Chioma, how long do you hope to fool Sir Michael and Sir Felix?’Julia questioned angrily, throwing the photograph she was holding in front of Chioma. ‘If Michael sees this picture, how would he react?’

‘Well, thank you for your concern, but then, allow my boyfriend to decide what punishment to give to me… I should change and go home.’Without looking at  the photograph, Chioma quickly pulled out her black uniform, and then changed into a casual blue shirt paired with black jeans, with her hair already pulled back in a sleek bun, then, she turned to leave. Pausing at the door, she cocked her head and said with a smirk, ‘once you’re tired of staring you can head back home.’ With that she left, bumping into Emeka at the counter. She explained everything to Emeka, and off she headed home.

Julia glanced coldly at the door, and then she walked out of the room. She was able to find her way into the changing room because one of the recently hired waitresses was a family relative of hers.
