The Moment I Met You (Chapter 398)

 By Nightengale Ben-Onyeukwu

The next morning, Michael drove his gold Lamborghini to Moon Corporation. As always, the luxury car really did cause a scene. Today, Michael had purposely chosen a black dress shirt and a black suit, though, the dress was perfect on his body, but he wanted everyone to see how serious the meeting would be. This ensemble happens to be finished off with a pair of black leather oxford shoes. He looked smart and polished.

As Michael’s car drove into the private parking lot, those that saw him stared in admiration. Although they couldn’t gossip, they wanted to at least have a look; it didn’t matter if they couldn’t see clearly. Michael seemed to be everyone’s idol.

Although a lot of people here drove Mercedes Benz, BMWs and Audi R8, plus other expensive cars, but anytime Michael or Felix drove in, many people would want to still admire their cars. Sometimes, Michael and Felix came to work with Ferrari or Lamborghini, Porsche, Maserati, Maybach, Rolls-Royce, Bentley or even Audi R8. They drove so many expensive-luxury cars which were smart.

Michael got out of the car and was about to leave for his office when a gentle and clear voice rang out, ‘Michael.’

Michael immediately paused in his tracks when he heard the voice. After slowly turning his head towards the voice, Jessica, dressed in a floral dress, paired with a mulberry clutch and leather fringe pumps and she accessorised the look with a beautiful necklace engraved with MJ, walking straight to Michael.

Michael appeared to not have heard Jessica’s voice. His expression remained cold even when she was standing directly before him.

‘Miss Jessica,’ Robert who had come to carry Michael’s briefcase from the car greeted Jessica respectfully.

Michael glanced at his luxury wristwatch, turned abruptly, and called out to Felix who just drove in in his Rolls-Royce, ‘Felix.’

Felix, already walking away while holding some documents he went home with yesterday, heard Michael’s call and stopped in his tracks.

Michael strode towards Felix with one hand in his pocket, ditching Jessica behind. He stopped before Felix with his ringing phone and said, ‘We are having a crucial meeting now.’

Felix nodded and replied, ‘I am aware of it.’

Michael raised his chin slightly to Robert, who was walking towards him and said, ‘Place the briefcase on my desk, then come immediately to the conference room.’   He turned to leave with Felix, ignoring the presence of Jessica.

Robert nodded and followed behind.                                                      Jessica’s smile was twitching with anger as she watched Michael disappear from her sight.

Michael and Felix went straight to the conference room. The company’s high-ups were all seated waiting for the CEO to arrive, and when he arrived, he went straight to his seat with a grim expression. Felix sat down too, and then the meeting began.

‘Sir, these are the proposals that you approved the last time we had meeting with you,’ the financial department head said.

Michael glared at him. ‘Did I call for this meeting for you to stress me with your foolish nonsense?’ I am here to discuss on something else.’

‘But Sir, you asked me to present the approved proposals in our next meeting,’

‘And I said that we are here for something else,’ while speaking, an icy cold aura swept across Michael’s eyes. It wasn’t just a simple warning.

 ‘But Sir…’

‘I hope you still love your job except you want to be fired? And you do know that it is very difficult for someone that has been fired from Moon Corporation to find a new job.’ Michael glanced at the PR department head who was dressed in a professional white suit. The powerful aura in Michael’s eyes forced the man to stop talking. ‘I have no control how anyone treats anyone…but when it comes to my woman I won’t allow anyone to force her to a corner.’

Everyone could feel the cold in Michael’s voice. No one would dare interrupt him.

‘From today henceforth, I announce that Moon Corporation seizes to do business with the Nnaji Group.’

‘Don’t worry President Michael, we will do as you command,’ the marketing head had a smile on his face the entire time. He knew Michael was more ruthless than he appeared right now. He didn’t want to risk losing his job at Moon Corporation, which was a boost to anyone’s status.

‘Regarding Jessica Nnaji, she won’t be welcomed here anymore. The PR should release this news to the media.’

‘Your wish is our command,’ they all agreed.

Seeing Felix had nothing to say, Michael didn’t want to waste any more time. So he elegantly stood up, picked up his phone on the table and left the conference room. Felix, Robert and Peter followed behind.

The PR head watched as the four of them left, ‘The Njemanze family and the Nnaji family have been friends for ages now, why would the president suddenly break all ties with them.’

‘No matter what reason it was, it wasn’t for us to be concerned. We should just follow the order.’

‘Could it be that Chioma might have asked him to do this?’

‘You are wrong. Do you think President Michael would cancel doing business with Jessica’s family, just because Chioma asked him to?’

‘I don’t think that a man like Michael would allow himself to be tied down by a measly girl. He is the almighty king of this empire; he can have whichever woman he wants. So, as you saw…although I feel he did this for Chioma, he would still never marry her.’

‘President Michael would get married sooner or later. I am quite sure that ugly looking girl will fall from her perch. He would prefer to marry Jessica instead.’

‘Love is foolish. I have no doubt that the boss would marry Chioma in the end.’

‘The boss owns so many resources. If he was going to marry, Chioma would never be part of the option. He would definitely pick Jessica or a daughter of a rich mogul so it benefits his business…Chioma is simply a toy for him to play in bed. President Michael might have put the engagement ring on her finger, but he is never serious with her.’

‘Didn’t that girl cancel her engagement with him and ran away to heaven knows where…what a silly witch.’
